To Whom It May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Mayra Munoz. I am her AP Literature and Composition teacher, and I was her Freshman AVID English teacher. I have known her for four years. I have only encountered a few young ladies of her character and ability. Mayra is an active participant in the International Club and Manteo High School Yearbook Staff. She peer tutors during the State End-of-Course exams. Mayra has been both President and Vice Presdent for the International Club during the past two years. In addition, she has been the Historian for the Manteo High School Yearbook for the past three years. As an AVID tutor, she delivers flawless oral presentations and complete enviable projects. . Mayra’s senior project pertained to the research of elementary education. Her tenacity is tireless, and she unselfishly assists her peers during AVID tutorials. She is meticulous and follows oral and written directions well. Her extracurricular participation in both clubs and tutorials attest to her mature ability to balance both academics and after school activities.
Mayra Munoz is so diligent that she is often harder on herself than the teacher is. As an Avid student, she strives for perfection and is dissatisfied with herself is she achieves less. She has distinguished herself academically. She is an excellent student who has earned a high G.P.A. In addition to her excellent performance, she manages to round out her resume with extracurricular activities. She has been an active participant within AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination for four years. She volunteers numerous hours of service to charitable organizations. Mayra devotes her time tutoring young AVID and Spanish students; she recycles for a better future. Mayra is fluent in two languages. She participates with a church youth organization and volunteers with the Outer Banks Marathon. Also, she volunteers with the Britthaven Nursing Home project to plant a spring garden for the elderly. In addition, she donates and creates Christmas gift bags for the elderly.
Diligent and responsible are adjectives that come to my mind when I think of Mayra Munoz. She is an asset in class participation and often keeps her peers on track. Her peers respect her opinion and look up to Mayra as a testimony to what can be done with effort and determination. Her parents have done a wonderful job in rearing such a self-disciplined, dignified, and focused young lady. I am proud to have had her as a Manteo High School student.
Mayra’s motivation, dedication to a job well done, and her conscientiousness will sustain her through any post-high school program. I have no doubt that she will be a credit to any program. I recommend her with no reservation whatsoever.
